Pincushion Flower

Last week I shared my poppies with you. This week I want to share my pincushion flower. It is a perennial, and I only have one plant, but it is a very fascinating flower. If you look at it very closely, it really does look as if it was made up of pins nestled in a pincushion. Simply amazing!

I don't think I have ever seen this. I like all of the "pins" in the middle. Does it have a terrific fragrance? Very nice.

I have a pincusion plant in my garden too. It does really well in the spring and fall but not so well during the summer. It doesn't like the heat. Maybe yours in Idaho will do better all summer long. :-) The southern summers where we live are too much for it!

Great photo!
