I have never made sticky buns. I've made variations of cinnamon rolls and orange rolls but never sticky buns. I'm not sure why really because I love them. A week or so ago one of my daughters passed me a recipe for sticky buns as a great big hint. She informed me that when she and her sister wore braces a number of years ago, that I had promised to make them sticky buns when the braces were removed. Obviously a promise not kept. So I promptly got busy making the buns. They were very easy to make, and after finishing off the first batch, have left all of us wanting some more. I'm not so sure if that is a good thing or a bad thing.

Walnettos Make Me Happy
I can remember eating Walnettos when I was a young girl; but basically forgot all about them for years and years. Now I have found them in the bulk candy section of one of the grocery stores I frequent. In case you have never had a Walnetto, they are a walnut caramel, and quite tasty I might add. Apparently they disappeared off the market for a while, until someone decided to bring them back into production. I'm glad they did.

Enjoying the View
It is hard to imagine that August 5th is already upon us! My oh my what has happened to the summer? In light of this realization, I have decided that for the remainder of this month, I need to make a few "lazy days (i.e. moments) of summer" happen since they obviously don't just happen by themselves. So recently I took some time in the afternoon, and stretched out on my outdoor swing for a bit. Here is the view I had, and I think it is a most excellent view to say the least.

Twinkies
When I was a little girl, the only time that I got to eat a Twinkie, at least as far as I can remember, was on the very last day of school. Our school would typically spend the last day at the park having a big school wide picnic. I can remember knowing that inside my lunch box was going to be a Twinkie for dessert. It was so special. I realize that Twinkies are about as far as you can get from health food; but you have to admit, they are pretty good, in moderation that is. I haven't had a Twinkie in probably a couple of years; but today when I was flipping through a new Gooseberry Patch catalog, this caught my eye:

They actually sell a pan for you to make your very own Twinkies. I'll have to ponder this one as it does seem rather tempting to me.
